Addon Domains and Sub Domains.

Addon Domain
It is used to host multiple sites with separate domain names on hosting account and it is an additional domain that the system stores as a subdomain of your main site. Use addon domains to host additional domains on your account. For more information, read the documentation.
Creating an addon Domain
To create an addon domain follow the below steps
1)Log in to the cPanel and Go to Domain sections and click Addon Domains

2)Under Create Addon Domian,type the domain name in the New domain Name text box.
3)Type the Password in the password text box.
4)Retype the account password in the password again text box.
5)Click Add Domain

Modifying an addon Domain

1)Log in to the cPanel and Go to Domain sections and click Addon Domains

2)Under Modify Addon Domian,locate the domain namethat yopu want to modify:

  • To change the addon domain document root directory, click the cPanel edit type the new document root directory, and then click Change.
  • To set up domain redirection, click Manage Redirection, type the domain to which you want the addon domain to redirect, and then click Save.

Removing an addon Domain

1)Log in to the cPanel and Go to Domain sections and click Addon Domains

2)Under Modify Addon Domian,locate the domain namethat yopu want to remove and click remove.

3)If you want to remove FTP account also then select the checkbox.

4)Click Remove to confirm the removal.

 

Sub Domains

A subdomain is a subsection of your website that can exist as a new website without a new domain name. Use subdomains to create memorable URLs for different content areas of your site. For example, you can create a subdomain for your blog that is accessible through blog.example.com and www.example.com/blog

To add subdomains,follow the bellow steps.

1)Log in to the cPanel and Go to Domain sections and click SubDomains

2)Under Create SubDomian,type the name of the sub domain in the subdomain text box.

3)Click create,and can add the content in the document root.

 

SubDomain Redirect
You can redirect web site visitors from a particular subdomain to another.
Enabling subdomain redirection
To enable subdomain redirection follow these steps:
1)Log in to the cPanel and Go to Domain sections and click SubDomains
2)Under Modify a Subdomain, locate the subdomain that you want to redirect, and then click Manage Redirection.
3)In the Subdomain Redirection text box, type the redirection destination address.
4)Click Save.

To disable subdomain redirection, follow these steps:

1)In the Domains section of the cPanel home screen, click Subdomains.
2)Under Modify a Subdomain, locate the subdomain, and then click Manage Redirection.
3)Click Disable Redirection.
